A Special Christmas Recipe

Hi, this is Mary Johnson. Are you looking for a great Christmas recipe, one that the whole family will love? Well I have one for you it’s quick and easy. I bet you have most of the ingredients already. This holiday recipe has been in our house for years. I am sure you will enjoy this recipe as much as our family has.

1 Busy Mother

1 Unperturbed Father

1 or 3 excited kids (various sizes)

½ as much time as needed

1 budget badly bent

1 lb. of patience

1 qt. of secrets

1 bushel each of joy, love, laughter, and faith

Place all ingredients in house a few weeks before Christmas. Sprinkle children with secrets and allow to simmer. Gradually add patience to Mother as needed. Add as much joy, love, laughter and faith as hearts will hold. Garnish Father with unpaid bills. Serve generous portions topped with blessings of the Christ Child. There will be plenty to go around and lots left over for yourself. You and your family have a safe and Happy Holiday during this Christmas season. There might be a mad rush of preparation around your house this year, but take a little time to love one another and share. Remember, giving is more fun than receiving and that the true meaning of Christmas is ever ending.

In Life There is Always a Way

In life there is always a way, but we have to try; because life is a gift to both you and I. We can’t expect to merely sit, without an effort to merit it. There’s always a way, though the going’s rough, and only our best is going to be good enough. Remember your strength‘s, for in life there is always a way; Yes, life has some pain but never will it be to you in vain.

Here are several things I try to do each day; you might consider trying them, I bet you to will say they pay.

Look for a smile today and return it with one of your own, give someone new faith and hope, it’s such a beautiful loan.

Gather a thought that’s kind, one that’s sincere and deep, but be sure to pass it along, for such are too precious to keep!

Forget yesterday’s old sorrows, mistakes, sadness, and pain; lift your heart with hope and a song as flowers to sun and rain!

Offer a word of comfort and prayer to help someone in need; a little thoughtful gift, some flowers or a smile makes us all rich indeed!

You shall not pass this way again, so do any good you can do; don’t put it off until tomorrow or the chance may be lost for you!

Your attitude is a choice that only you can change or make, but a good attitude I promise will never put a frown upon your face.

It's That Time of Year Again

Oh, it’s that time of year again when the hustle and bustle begins,  that fast and furious time, when we get caught up on buying gifts and spend.

The true meaning of Christmas is sometimes forgotten and remembered by so few, we get involved with material things, and tend to make up our own rules.

Let’s take just a moment to remember the times when things were simple life was about giving and sharing, not expensive gifts and spending.

When I was a child we received a gift, but the true meaning of Christmas was never forgotten nor was there very much money spent.

We gave from our hearts and shared our lives with one another, but always gave thanks for all that we had and forgot all the other fancy glitter.

The true meaning of Christmas we savored, and the memories there were many.

So, again this year I plan to enjoy, good company with family and friends while making sure the holiday season is rightly remembered for its many joys and blessings.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy Safe New Year

Laughter is Healing

New research shows that humor is good medicine and can actually help keep you in good health. I’ve begun to look for the humor in everything. Humor yourself with a few of the following ideas. See if you can relate to any of these things mentioned.

Look for humor - Try to see the amusing side of every situation.

Keep a humor first aid kit – Stock it with things that always make you laugh, funny cartoons, jokes, greeting cards, comedy tapes. Apply it for emotional scrapes and bruises.

Brighten up your surroundings – Paper a wall with cheerful posters,

crazy bumper stickers and signs.

Make Time for fun – Schedule a 15 minute humor break everyday.

Be playful – Spend time with a child to help rediscover your sense of delight. Don’t be afraid to be silly.

Encourage laughter in others – Humor is contagious. Tell a funny story and you may get one back.

Avoid self-degrading or putdown humor – “There is humor that helps and humor that hurts,” Laugh with people, not at them. Remember learning to laugh at you is healing and refreshing too.

Refresh yourself try putting laughter at the top of your list, of things to do today.
